Building a video player is relatively straightforward in modern iOS development. But building a video player that fires hardware electromagnetic actuators with sub-millisecond precision alongside 4K 60fps video and 5.1 Dolby audio requires reimagining how media pipelines communicate with the operating system kernel.

The official Aura Mobile App (available at /download) is engineered from the ground up to solve the audio-tactile synchronization challenge, providing film fans with an uncompromised theatrical premiere experience in their hands.

Sub-Millisecond Clock Synchronization (0.00ms Drift)

In consumer streaming applications, network jitter often causes video frames to buffer or slip by a few frames while audio continues unhindered. If a haptic track runs on a standalone timer, it will quickly drift out of synchronization with the buffered picture.

Aura eliminates this by binding all haptic pattern dispatches to AVPlayerItemTimebase. When the video pauses, scrubs, buffers, or drops frames, the haptic cue clock halts and snaps back instantly, guaranteeing exactly 0.00ms of perceptual drift across the entire theatrical trailer.
